Utul is a veteran in card industry with all round experience in Banking and Payments business. His educational qualification is B COM, LLB and CAIIB from Indian Institute of Bankers. He started his career in year 1978 with Bank of Baroda in mainstream banking. In 1988, he was posted in Credit Card department where he set up and managed issuance and acquiring business of the bank as part of the core team.
In 1998, Utul joined HDFC Bank where he launched Merchant Acquiring & Debit Cards issuance business for the bank.
In early 2000, Utul moved to BNP Paribas where he was instrumental in launch of Merchant Acquiring business. This portfolio was later migrated to IDBI Bank along with the entire merchant acquiring team under Utul’s leadership in November 2002. In 2004, he was assigned additional responsibilities as head of Alternate Channels & Cards in IDBI Bank. He was an active member of Visa Executive Committee and also Founder Member and Vice Chairman of India Payment Card Risk Council.
In August 2006, he chose a new assignment with Adventity. His Key responsibility among other things was to facilitate setting up cards and payments business by banks in Middle East.
In November 2008, Utul joined Venture Infotek Pvt Ltd (now Worldline, a French Multinational), which is the largest third party processor in India servicing more than 40 banks and other institutions. His last assignment was with Worldline as Head of Business Development – South Asia and Middle East markets.
Pravin is a person with entrepreneurial mind frame who likes to take new challenges. He is innovative and a proven specialist in operations and technology.
He comes from Joint business family who had been engaged in Kabra Constructions Pvt. ltd., Nanded Rural Dental College & Nanded Physiotherapy College, Cutis Biotech and Kabra & Maliwal associates.
Professionally Pravin is a Mechanical Engineer and Six Sigma Black belt, with 19 years of comprehensive experience in handling IT, KPO, BPO, and Customer engagement. He worked with Mahindra and Mahindra (M & M) for 5 years and joined Venture Infotek at a start up stage as a core team member to build the company. He contributed in the fivefold growth of the company while heading the operations with a team of almost 250 people under his leadership. He was part of the core management team dealing with exit and takeover of Venture Infotek by Atos and Card personalization business by Oberthur.
In his quest to learn and handle challenges, he spearheaded various functions including HR, IT, Quality & Business along with Operations as key role. His innovative thought process not only created IP and patents in M & M, but also in payments and financial domain.
His last assignment was with Worldline (An Atos group company) as Senior Vice President – Operations.
